Sigyn- Incantation Fetter
This is a by-name of Sigyn's that has caused many researcher's despair in that there is little information on it. I can only relate my own gnosis. Please note the following is pure gnosis- this is not research and I am only providing a few of my experiences that correlate with this by-name of Sigyn.
I was introduced to Loki by a being of another Pantheon. This being whose first, older and rarer name is Adam, decided that I reminisce too much one day. He decided He would do something about this and entered my mind, cutting and snipping. Now- I won't say He was wrong- I probably do. As He began blue petals began to suddenly drift within my vision reminding me of snowflakes. He yelled out, I believed they burnt. He swore (not always a gentleman is Adam) and left.
When He left I was pulled to Sigyn- I saw/sensed that grey swirl I see with travel and found myself in front of Her. Our conversation isn't important- what is important is in relation to the kenning Incantation-Fetter. She truly fettered His intent. She also agreed I reminisce too much but didn't necessarily like how the other Pantheon works so essentially told Him to bugger off. She restrained Him, fettered Him, from what He wished to do.
That wasn't the first time I had encountered the flowers. The first time Loki had brought them to me in a bouquet. I should have known, He came in the form of a wolf gingerly holding the flowers in His mouth touching only the stems. He dropped them in front of me, I picked them up and my hands became fettered. There was a lesson, an exercise Loki had me do with the fetter that is not important here- but again, the blue flowers of fettering.
The petals can work in reverse- they can un-fetter. I was having an emotional issue- a deep one that I couldn't even quite find. She brought out a clear bowl with blue petals. I didn't want to touch them (not after last time!) but She pulled out a handful and blew them onto me. They sunk in, filling and coating my spaces. She told me to let them 'settle' through the night (it was evening) and they would help the next day. The next day they did help- when I meditated I found a cavern with flowers growing at the source of my issue. She un-fettered me of a deep issue that was having ramifications on my life. As I sobbed during the work of this emotional unfettering, more petals fluttered down around me providing peace and a measure of serenity.
As they are within me, I have also used them to fetter me to my bed when I was worried I may drift into a journey in that twilight of near sleep. I used them as sailors use ropes to tie their boats to piers.
This particular ability, this magic, may not be the reason for the name- but I see a correlation.
